Children on Sundays

Our aim is to help our children and young people to learn more about Jesus and his love for us, and what it means for a young person to follow him today.

Each age-group has its own team of leaders and helpers who get to know the children well.

Scramblers (3-5 yrs old)

Aged up to the end of Reception Year at school

As Scramblers we begin by meeting together with the slightly older Climbers to share news, sing and pray. Then in Scramblers we use big, story-board pictures as we hear about a person from the Bible and think about how we can live our lives as a Christian. We have lots of fun and keep very active – sticking, painting, using Play Do, modelling and playing games. Thirsty work – so we have refreshments too!

Climbers (5-7 yrs old)

Years 1 & 2 at school

After beginning with the Scramblers we go into our own room and hear a Bible story. This helps us to learn what God is teaching us about how to follow him. We have games and activities that fit with the stories (lots of sticking, drawing and colouring!). We also enjoy a cup of squash together!

Explorers and Trailblazers (7-11)

Combined years 3&4, and years 5&6 at school

We teach the children about the Lord Jesus Christ and the difference he can make to our lives. We read a passage or hear a Bible story and then we discuss its meaning. There’s lots of time too for games and activities which are designed to get us all thinking about the theme for that session. We learn together through reading, games, crafts, drawing, quizzes, role play and drama.

Pathfinders (11-14yrs old)

Years 7-9 at school

We aim to help our young people grow in their knowledge of Jesus and love for him. We do this by studying what the Bible has to say, praying together and building friendships with people of a similar age.

There is an annual camp each summer that many of our Pathfinders go to and enjoy.

Midweek socials

We also have several midweek meetings for those of secondary school age:
