Who is it for?
It is especially suited for anyone who wants to dig deeper into the Bible than is possible in Sunday sermons. There are no prior educational requirements; the 'average' person could successfully complete this course with appropriate study. The Moore College course is designed to be as flexible as possible, allowing students to go at their own pace, with or without exams.
What is studied?
The course is studied in termly Modules on subjects such as a Bible Overview, Mark's Gospel, Romans, Reformation Church History and Doctrine.
What commitment is involved?
Each module is a ten week course involving group tutorials, personal study and an end of module exam. The modules start in September, January and April.
There are weekly group tutorials on Thursdays from 5.30-7pm, and occasionally at other times, taught by experienced pastors and teachers.
Course members need to be prepared to spend 3-5 hours of guided personal
study each week to make the most of the course.
There is a final exam at the end of each module which is sent off and marked
by external examiners. You do not have to sit the exam to do the course,
but most find such consolidation of their learning extremely beneficial,
whatever the exam result in the end! Exams do, however, need to be passed
to gain the Certificate in Theology.
